Child Development

Did you know that in the first five years of a child’s life, their brain develops connections faster than at any other time in their life. These young years are when the foundations for learning, communication, health and behaviour for life are laid down.

Babies brains are ready from pre-birth to absorb information from the world around them. They were born ready to learn! Babies brains grow from loving, caring environments with stimulation and engagement with the special people around them. Different activities give children opportunities to play, learn, grow and develop.

The absolute foundation for children to grow into their potential is for them to have safe, secure, loving relationships. These safe relationships affect all areas and stages of children’s development. Through relationships, children learn key information about their world. A child will learn about how safe and secure they are in the world and they will learn that they are cared for via safe responsive connections from significant people to them. Children also learn about who they are and how social relationships work through observation of their significant people being in relationship with one another.
