What brought you here to Sanctuary Aus?

I was drawn to Sanctuary Aus because of its strong values and commitment to providing trauma-informed, holistic care for individuals and families. The opportunity to lead a growing counselling team within an organisation that prioritises genuine connection, safety, and advocacy aligned closely with my professional goals and personal values. I saw it as a place where I could contribute meaningfully while continuing to grow in leadership and clinical practice.

What keeps you here at SA?

What do you like about your role?

As Team Leader for Counselling Services, I enjoy the balance between clinical work and leadership. I’m passionate about supporting the professional development of my team, creating a nurturing and reflective space for practitioners, and helping to shape services that are inclusive, culturally responsive, and accessible. I also love having the opportunity to work directly with clients when needed, which keeps me grounded in the core purpose of our work.

Your Previous Work

I have worked across a variety of roles in the community and mental health sectors, including individual and family counselling, domestic and family violence support, trauma recovery, and case coordination. My background also includes facilitating therapeutic groups and working closely with clients with disabilities and complex needs under the NDIS framework.

Your previous study

I have a background in psychology and hold formal qualifications in counselling and clinical supervision. I have also completed specialised training in trauma-informed care, child and adolescent mental health, positive behaviour support, and parenting programs such as Circle of Security. I'm committed to continuous learning and professional development, especially in areas that address community gaps such as early intervention and culturally safe practice.

What keeps me here is the sense of purpose and the collaborative environment. I appreciate the supportive team culture and the organisation’s openness to innovation and new ideas in service delivery. Being part of a team that’s passionate about making a real difference in the lives of clients—especially in vulnerable communities, is incredibly rewarding. I also value the flexibility and trust placed in staff to bring their strengths to the role.
